RECYCLED TOYS YOUR KIDS CAN MAKE

Some of our favorite toys for kids are ones that have been "up cycled".  We love using recycled materials, and kids do too.  It's amazing what items around the house and a little imagination can create.

CARDBOARD BOX TRAIN

One of our favorite recycled toys ever is this cardboard box train.  One of the reasons it's so great is because it only takes 3 steps.  Just glue, paint and draw.

CARDBOARD TRAIN BOX ITEMS

You'll need to enlist your kiddos to help you find the boxes for the train and have them help you paint and draw the on the train.   In the end, this toy will yield hours of entertainment.  You'll find the full Card Board Box Train tutorial on Kids Activities Blog.

COFFEE CAN DRUMS

If you have any empty coffee cans in the house, you'll love this creative craft turned toy.  It lets kids create music with their very own Coffee Can Drums.  Kids tap into their creativity making their drums, and then they can spend hours fine tuning their musical prowess banging on their homemade instrument.  We call that the best bang for your buck.

TOILET PAPER ROLL TRAIN CRAFT

The fabulous thing about this up cycled toy train is that is made up of recycled materials.  So, it's really inexpensive to make, and you probably have all of the materials at home already to make the toy.

CARDBOARD PLAYHOUSE

So many cardboard toys for kids are large.  This toy can be packed up and made portable! It is made up of 3 panels that tie together so there is actually opportunity for your child to paint six different scenes (front and back of 3 panels).  We adore that.

CARDBOARD PLAYHOUSE - WHAT YOU NEED

All you need to make a cardboard playhouse is corrugated cardboard, a craft knife, paint, a hole punch and some twine! You can find the full tutorial on Kids Activities blog!

This is a great craft and toy for older kids.  Wacky balls are those squishy balls that we used to kick (like a hack sack) when we were in school.  The object was to keep it from touching the ground.  When we weren't playing with it with our feet, we were squishing it with our hands?  Well, you can make your own!  You just need those left over balloons you have stuffed in a drawer, flour, a spoon, scissors and a funnel.

Making water bombs is an easy activity that your kids will love to do.  They can be reused again and again and best of all, they are made from sponges that I'm guessing are hanging out under your kitchen sink.

Let your kids find objects around the house to craft with and see where their imagination takes them.  Recycled toys are so much fun!
